The Story

When I started travelling heavily many years ago, I soon decided that renting a home or villa over a hotel, was the only way to go.  More space and a feeling a truly being home was more my speed.  Unfortunately, it's very hard to find a high end vacation home that isn't full of old stuff that have ended up at the vacation house as an afterthought!

With that in mind, I set out two years ago to build a high end vacation home with the utmost in luxury and amenities in mind.  Starting from scratch, I designed, built and finished out the home exactly to the specifications I wanted and knew others would want.  The focus of the home would be the outdoor activities and the waterfront on Lake Travis, but I didn't want to forget about the comfort aspect.  Plush beds, private bathrooms, comfortable reading chairs and cozy couches.

It all started with the raw piece of land in a quiet area of Spicewood, TX. About 30 minutes from Austin, it was the perfect spot to get away, but still be close to the city. After several revisions of the plans and making sure I isolated the perfect spot on the land to optimize view of the lake, I had the lot cleared and locked down the start date in late 2006.

I picked the perfect spot to take advantage of the view and started construction in early 2007.  The vision of creating an ultimate getaway took shape over the next few months as I oversaw the construction of the house.

I ramped down the construction process in late 2007 while adding the finishing touches including the double slip boat dock, landscaping, ground maintenance, putting green and furniture.

It's been a truly fun and fulfilling process and I am looking forward to sharing the home and playground with others.  I am very excited to hear about experiences that guests have when vacationing at the home - the memories they will create that will stay with them for years to come.

Sincerely,

Nate Pruitt
